At this point you should be already in your groups. Before we start, take some time to talk with your group members about what you might know about earthquakes. For this project you can split up responsibilities amongst your group. However, everyone must do their part in the group work because each person will assess their group members at the end of the project.
Let's begin!
Step 1: Research
Make sure you are recording all the important information.
- First, research why earthquakes happen (what causes them), where they occur most, and how they affect the Earth.
- Next, you will research the safety precautions one must take if an earthquake was to occur.
- Last, you will do research to discover what "The Ring of Fire" is and why it is related to earthquakes.
Step 2: Create Map
- Once your research is complete you will create a map that shows where earthquakes occur the most.
- The map must involve the areas closest to us and you must show "The Ring of Fire."
- Use a key so we understand how to read your map.
Step 3: Show us what you learned
- On a separate board or in a PowerPoint create a summary of the important information you learned.
- Include all the sections that you had to cover in your research.
Step 4: Present
- Come ready and prepared to present
- Everyone must participate in the presentation
Enjoy!
